One of the most engaging bears I have ever come across, this playful sub-adult bear was such a treat to share space with. Photographed in west-central British Columbia along a Salmon spawning river, this gorgeous bear would wade into the brisk water to inspect the boat I was photographing from as her curiosity was just too strong to resist. She would pick a Salmon out of the river and take it back to shore before tossing it into the air repeatedly and rolling in the snow along the river bank for several moments before wading back into the river to inspect the boat again. Cautious and curious, her gaze is so tender. This is a very special Image to me.
